Management Centre Europe (MCE) is celebrating its 30th anniversary with a major HR conference in Vienna in April 1998. Ian Cunningham will be coordinating a seminar on Learning Organisations as part of the conference. He has invited two company CEO’s to make presentations on their experiences. Both have used Self Managed Learning as part of their overall learning strategy.

Asko Saviaho, the CEO of Finlands Post, has supported an SML programme for their senior managers as well as fostering other initiatives. Similarly the other CEO, Mike Jackson of Birmingham Midshires Building Society, has been at the forefront of promoting major changes in the organisation’s learning strategies.
